Being able to rise above authoritarian religious training is rare, but for those who have succeeded, recovery can be very challenging. Along with the lost promise of an afterlife and miracles, most people feel their moral sense of right and wrong is rooted in their religion. Although so much is gained when one lets go of the religious crutch, there is a state of confusion, anger, guilt, grief and fear that many pass through before the healing can take place. And this should not be done alone. Join us as we discuss our journey from superstitious indoctrination to the freedom of inquiry.

I would so like to attend this. It sounds like a great topic for discussion, but we are leaving for Costa Rica the next day.

Who attended?

    •  Nine people attended this meeting. The topic was very interesting, and it was agreed this should be something we offer as an ongoing program. A "Recovering from Religion" support group will be formed and monthly meetings set up.
    •  It's a great group of intelligent and interesting folks.
