The East Side Brights May Meeting
(1 rating)
Meeting Description
Who
- All brights meetings are open to people who wish to share experiences and information from the naturalistic perspective. People with religious or other points of view are welcome to attend to discover our point of view and compare it with their own.
Why
- You will love the Brights because we are concerned with how our actions reflect our naturalistic, scientific orientation. Tell us how your work, home, personal and social life is influenced by your naturalistic orientation.
Organized by

Details
May 12 meeting
Bring in your articles, news, tv shows, web content, DVDs and books. Lets see what is going on in the world of naturalistic thinking. Let's try to find out about the other groups, their schedules and activities.
We continue to be in a political environment. Evangelical Christians have systematically infiltrated the military. Where else? Media? How deeply are they entrenched in the government?
We have had discussions about the need to build a naturalistic, non-religious culture. Culture needs artifacts. We need songs, art, games, writing, cartoons, symbols, even rituals.
How can we use the web to improve our cross group communication? Can anyone identify Brights or Atheist blogs?
Introduction
WHO IS A BRIGHT? / A bright is an individual with a naturalistic worldview, free of supernatural and mystical elements. (A "naturalistic worldview" puts forward no particulars with respect to individual beliefs. Thus, it is a global category that encompasses a diversity of people.) If this is you, you are in the right place and please read on.
General Specifics for all meetups.
As always, I'd like to ask you to bring in current events of interest to Brights. What have you found on the web, in the paper, tv, magazines and new books of interest to you as a Bright? If you have videos you would like to show we can set up to watch them next time.
New members may have some passionate topics they could present on or would like to discuss.
Check out the national Brights site for more information. Their site is at:
